Weather forecast

This archived forecast was saved for IRONMAN Ottawa on August 2, 2026. Open-Meteo supplied GEM Seamless hourly model guidance for central Ottawa. The dated snapshot is preserved for replay; it is not refreshed and is not a record of observed race-day weather.

Bike course

The route comes from a user-supplied IRONMAN Canada–Ottawa GPX file. Its displayed length is 179.7 km. The geometry is sampled for browser performance while preserving route shape and cumulative distance.

Map

Leaflet renders the GPX against standard OpenStreetMap tiles. The map is locked and used only as geographic course context.

Wind playback

The selected bike start and leg time create an estimated passage time, assuming steady average progress by distance. Hourly wind is interpolated at that time and its meteorological direction is compared with the course bearing to label headwind, crosswind or tailwind.

Important limitations

Weather comes from one central Ottawa forecast point, not a different forecast for every course location. It is model guidance, not an on-course measurement. Hills, stops and individual pacing are not included in the estimated passage time.
